According to the project submitted by Portugal to Brussels, the Digital Shopping Neighbourhoods are a "catalyst for economic growth" that seeks to frame and strengthen "the vector of proximity and territorial cohesion", while promoting the "digitalization of economic operators and their business models, online commerce and the digital integration of supply and outlet chains". The 'Bairro Comercial Digital de Setúbal' initiative will be publicly presented this Monday, January 13, at 9pm, at the Luísa Todi Municipal Forum, to the region's traders.

The opening session will be led by the Mayor, André Martins, and MEO Empresas' Corporate Client Director, Jorge Patrício. After the initial presentation, traders and the public will be able to ask questions about the project, either by attending the round table, where the Traders will be represented, or in the agenda space which will be open to questions from the public. It should be remembered that this event comes after the outlines of the project were presented to the Secretary of State for the Economy, João Rui Ferreira, in December. During a visit to the city, the minister stressed that, of the 95 digital neighborhoods being created in Portugal, the "Bairro Setúbal Digital" represents "the second largest investment".
