MEO has the best mobile network in Portugal

MEO has reaffirmed its leadership in the electronic communications sector by being awarded "Best Mobile Coverage" in Portugal by Ookla®, the world leader in network intelligence. After being elected by DECO PROteste as the operator with the fastest mobile internet, MEO consolidates its technological leadership and its commitment to the Portuguese as the operator with the best mobile network at national level.

Ookla® recognizes MEO with the "Best Mobile Coverage" in Portugal
According to Speedtest Intelligence® data for the first and second quarter of 2024, MEO is the national operator with the best mobile network coverage in Portugal. MEO won the award for Best Mobile Coverage with a score of 77.19%, according to Coverage Scoreš - coverage metrics that describe the actual experience of using this network and the spatial extent of the verified coverage. The study, which compared the performance of the three main national operators, included more than 280,000 analyzed devices.

Always at the top of the Mobile Net
This new recognition follows DECO PROteste's award as the Best Mobile Internet. This distinction is the result of the average of the results (download and upload speeds, web browsing and streaming tests) measured by 46,000 users of the various operators, supported by the different generations of mobile network technology, including, for the first time, 5G technology.
This seal of quality and security guarantees one of the factors most appreciated by consumers, the speed of the mobile internet, which makes this distinction particularly important.
Both distinctions, awarded by renowned entities, are based on the continuous investment in expanding the capacity and coverage of the Mobile Network, which already covers 95.8% of the population in 5G and 99.96% in 4G. In addition, the strong investment in the expansion and modernization of the Fibre Optic Network, which already has 6.4 million homes passed, makes MEO the operator with the largest and most technologically advanced fibre optic network in Portugal.
