MEO Energia launches information service to help reduce electricity bills

This is a pioneering service, since MEO Energia is the first electricity supplier to make this commitment to give its customers the tools they need to control and reduce their monthly bill. In order for customers to make the most of the hourly prices, they need to be aware of their consumption and the prices set at any given time.

In a practical and transparent way, MEO Energia customers will receive daily information via email about their consumption profile, on an hourly basis, as well as an estimate of the prices that will be charged the following day. The information made available to the customer allows them to know which hours or tasks consume the most, and they can reschedule them for a time when the cost will be lower the following day.

The service, which has nine versions depending on the time of day and the customer's tariff cycle, will be available to customers with the new MEO Energy Variable Tariff with the following advantages:

- 100% green energy - The MEO Energy Variable Tariff is a 100% green tariff that allows customers to contribute to the sustainability of the planet.

- Energy bill savings - Customers can adjust their consumption to the times when energy is cheapest and thus save on their monthly bill.

- Transparency - The price of energy is determined 24 hours in advance.

- Peace of mind - If the market value rises substantially, customers can switch to the Fixed Tariff at any time and at no cost.

All private and business customers in mainland Portugal with power up to 41.4kVA (Normal Low Voltage) can subscribe to the new tariff, either online at www.meonergia.pt, by calling 800 028 028 or at a MEO store.

The information that MEO Energia is now providing its customers is even more relevant if we take into account the moment the energy sector is going through worldwide. Portugal was the country with the cheapest electricity in Europe in the first quarter of this year and April confirmed this trend, even being the month in which the Iberian electricity market reached historic lows.
