5G Challenge returns to accelerate technological future

5G Challenge is back to accelerate the technological future

The 2nd edition of the 5G Challenge is back to challenge companies or startups, both national and international, to explore the potential of 5G technology. With prizes totaling 30,000 euros, MEO Empresas' technological innovation contest is accepting applications until April 15.

The challenge for 2024 is clear: to find solutions for business customers with a special focus on advanced features of 5G technology, such as network slicing. An essential feature for responding to critical services in emergency or highly resilient contexts, 5G network slicing makes it possible to respond to new use cases and services, such as industrial applications, autonomous mobility, remote surgery, video streaming in the context of data congestion, immersive reality applications.
The solutions in the competition, aimed at the B2B or B2B2C market, can be applied to various sectors: industry, health, agriculture, retail and services, smart cities, mobility, education or tourism and entertainment.

In addition to special conditions such as access to MEO Empresas' golabs5G laboratory, where candidates will be able to test their solutions, the 2nd edition of the competition has new features: the award of monetary prizes, totaling 30 thousand euros, distributed among three categories - the 5G Innovation Grand Prize, with a prize of 15 thousand euros; the Best Portuguese Solution, with a prize of 10 thousand euros; and the Sustainability and Social Impact Prize, with a prize of 5 thousand euros.
