SAPO, a leader in the aggregation, production and curation of digital content and assets, has just revealed the big winners of the 22nd edition of the SAPO Awards, the most irreverent ever, which took place at Rock in Rio Lisboa, in Parque Tejo, in the year celebrating the 20th anniversary of what is one of the most emblematic music festivals in the world. In the context of this festival, which once again had SAPO as its Media Partner from the very first moment, the best in digital advertising in Portugal was recognized, from a universe of around 200 applications submitted to the competition and assessed by a jury of the country's benchmark.
"To the vitality and animation of this festival atmosphere that has already infected us all, we add the tradition, now in its 22nd edition, of recognizing the best in digital communication. What we're doing in this initiative is positioning Portugal as a cutting-edge country, with a brand that has belonged to all the Portuguese for 29 consecutive years: SAPO", says Gil Moreira, SAPO's general manager.

The SAPO Awards ceremony was also accessible on SAPO, at sapo.pt, and on the SAPO TV App, on MEO TV, in a position that SAPO has taken from the outset to combine the best content with technology and reach people wherever they are in a more inclusive and impactful way. Throughout the festival, both SAPO and the SAPO TV App also had live access to the programs of the World Stage and the Digital Stage, the latter including the SAPO Half Time Show, with interviews with musicians and artists.
On the first weekend of the festival alone, more than 33,000 people watched the best moments of the World Stage and Digital Stage live via the SAPO TV App available on MEO TV (via the blue button on the MEO remote control), which registered a total of more than 40,000 entries. The 22nd edition of the SAPO Awards marks a total of around 1,000 trophies awarded since 2000, with almost 2,900 nominations received from dozens of organizations and sectors of activity, in a unique movement to highlight excellence in digital communication.
At this now essential event, SAPO once again brought together advertisers, creative and media agencies, content creators and media organizations in Portugal, assuming its responsibility as an active promoter of an ecosystem that will have to be more solid and collaborative to face the growing challenges of the sector in an increasingly centralized and global market.
