MEO is the first Portuguese company to join the partner ecosystem of Azure Programmable Connectivity (APC), a solution that helps developers create
5G applications. In a public preview at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, APC aims to develop a strong ecosystem of partners, including the largest global operators.
Microsoft has just announced that Azure Programmable Connectivity (APC) is now available in public preview as an Azure service. Microsoft is actively collaborating with global operators, with MEO being the first Portuguese to join this strong ecosystem of partners.
Now fully integrated into the Azure Marketplace, APC allows operators to market their network APIs and simplifies their access for developers. APC provides seamless access to the Open Gateway for developers to create cloud-native and Edge applications that interact with network intelligence. By providing a unified, standard interface across all operator networks, developers can create edge-native applications that interact with network intelligence.
With the integration into APC, MEO will give developers access to its network, making it simpler and more accessible to use its services. Through standardized and user-friendly interfaces, the aim is to make new network resources available, enabling new services with greater performance, security or fraud prevention, to accelerate the growth of 5G digital services and applications.
For Ana Figueiredo, CEO of Altice Portugal, "This partnership is a natural extension of the joint work developed by MEO and Microsoft in offering Hybrid Cloud and Productivity solutions for the Enterprise market, namely with the Azure, Azure Stack Hub and Microsoft 365 offers. With this new step, companies and startups will have easier access to MEO's network APIs, resources that will gain increasing importance in the context of application development over the next few years."
For Andrés Ortolá, General Manager and President of Microsoft Portugal, "APC allows operators to share their network APIs in the Azure Marketplace, making them available for developers to create 5G applications that can serve the needs of businesses and consumers. Having MEO as part of the Azure for Operators portfolio and pioneering the APC is another step in strengthening our partnership. We look forward to seeing the applications that will emerge and that will enable new and differentiated use cases in the market."
