MEO Empresas once again bets on sport as a bridge to healthy competition

Created in 2023 by MEO Empresas in partnership with Jornal de Negócios, the tournament brings together thousands of athletes, men and women, of all ages and regions of the country. Representing companies that may or may not compete in the market in which they operate, the aim on the paddle tennis court is for everyone to share the spirit of networking and well-being that is increasingly associated with the sport.

Nuno Nunes, CSO B2B at Altice Portugal, highlights the support that the MEO Empresas Corporate Padel League has had since its first edition, both from companies and the public, as well as prominent personalities from the world of sport. "It's very gratifying to see that the result of our persistent commitment to sport has a positive contagion effect on more and more people. We are driven by the idea that this promotion of sporting activity is, above all, a way of strengthening relations between companies and between employees, while at the same time connecting people to life. This continues to be one of MEO's main aims and this is what brings us today to a second edition of the MEO Empresas Corporate Padel League which, we are convinced, will surprise us even more this year."

The Corporate Cup will be played regionally, at six different venues and in two stages. The first, a regional competition, promises to bring dozens of spectators to the Padel XXL venue in Batalha from this Friday until Sunday. This will be followed over the next two months:

- from March 1st to 3rd, the Azores stage

- from March 8 to 10, the Lisbon stage

- from March 15 to 17, the Porto

- from March 22nd to 24th, the Madeira stage

- from April 5th to 7th, the Algarve stage

After this stage, the selected teams have a place in the grand final, which will take place between April 12 and 14 in Lisbon. Only two companies will be elected national padel champions. In 2023, the Nestlé Portugal and Hotel da Baixa teams won the men's and women's titles respectively.
