Meet the Grand Jury and the 9 finalist projects for Altice Portugal's innovation award



The nine projects selected from hundreds of candidates for the 7th edition of the Altice International Innovation Award (AIIA) are now known. Karion Therapeutics, Tympulse Medical and expressPIK, in the Startup category; BreastScreening-AI, Methods for Improving Generalizability and Robustness of Medical Imaging AI Models and Charging the future of Evs through the wheel, in the Academia category; and Zoomguide, Mobiis and Lumen, in the "Includes by Altice Foundation" category are the finalists who will present their projects at a ceremony to be held on November 21 at the Convento do Beato.

Startup category
  • - expressPIK: Start-up offering diagnostics for personalized breast cancer treatments.
  • - Karion Therapeutics: Start-up focused on developing innovative, disruptive, effective and safe therapies for aggressive cancers.
  • - Tympulse Medical: Start-up that presents a highly innovative approach to surgical recovery of the eardrum.
Gym category
- BreastScreening-AI: A pioneering platform designed to revolutionize breast cancer diagnosis using advanced artificial intelligence.
- Charging the future of Evs through the wheel: A solution that incorporates the ability to charge batteries without physical contact into vehicle wheels.
- Methods for Improving Generalizability and Robustness of Medical Imaging AI Models: Project that studies methods for improving the generalizability and robustness of imaging AI models.

Category "Includes by Altice Foundation"
- Lumen: Advanced mobility solution that enables autonomous driving for visually impaired people.
- Mobiis: Accessible navigation solutions for people with temporary or permanent reduced mobility.
- Zoomguide: Guide that, through AI, is able to recognize the environment and provide relevant multimedia content for users with special needs.

In the last stage of the Prize, the nine finalists will defend their projects in front of a Grand Jury that will once again include big names from the communications sector and the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem:

On November 21, the AIIA will once again distinguish, promote and support technological talent, reinforcing Altice's role as an innovative group. Of the nine finalist projects, marked by the diversity and innovation of their themes, only one will win first place in each of the three categories in the competition: Academy, Startups and "Includes by Altice Foundation".
Also on this day, the Startups to be supported by Startup Lisboa and the winner of the Born from Knowledge (BfK) award from the National Innovation Agency (ANI) will be announced.
