MEO Garnier Ambre Solaire summer action reaches the biggest event of the year

MEO Summer Action, Garnier Ambre Solaire arrives at the biggest event of the year

With the arrival of summer, vacations and a return to the beaches, MEO is once again teaming up with Garnier Ambre Solaire to provide free sunscreen in an effort to raise awareness of the risks associated with excessive sun exposure.

In its fourth year of making sunscreen dispensers available at dealerships on the country's main beaches, the brand, always attentive to the needs of those preparing to face long hours of exposure to the sun, is taking this initiative to the pilgrims taking part in World Youth Day (WYD), taking place between August 1 and 6 in Lisbon, where more than 1 million visitors are expected, by installing sunscreen dispensers in Campo da Graça, located in Parque Tejo, where the Vigil with the Youth and the Holy Mass on World Youth Day, both celebrated by Pope Francis, will take place.

Sun protection requires care throughout the year, but deserves extra attention in summer, as it is a time when ultraviolet rays are particularly strong, and because it follows a long period of less sun exposure.

This is a way of making everyone aware of the precautions to be taken with the sun, contributing to the dissemination of responsible exposure practices, such as the use of sunscreen.
This is already the fourth edition of what is a proactive action to raise awareness among the Portuguese population about the importance of living summer and beach days in a healthy and responsible way. This initiative has been growing year on year, not only in terms of the number of beaches and regions where it is present, but also in terms of Portuguese participation.

Sun protection is once again the responsibility of the Garnier Ambre Solaire brand, with the hypoallergenic Sensitive Advanced Light Texture Milk Sunscreen SPF 50+, which not only offers protection with greater resistance and can be applied to various skin types, but is also committed to respecting the oceans.

It will take place for a month and a half, between July 15 and August 21, and will cover the following beaches (mainland and islands): Praia da Torreira, in Ovar; Praia de Matosinhos; Praia de Buarcos in Figueira da Foz; Praia de Monte Gordo; Praia do Ancão in Loulé; Praia da Manta Rota; Praia Olhos D'Água in Albufeira; Praia do Baleal Sul in Peniche; Praia Foz do Lizandro, in Ericeira; Praia do Areal Sul, in the West Zone; Praia Grande in Sintra; Praia do Guincho, in
Cascais; Riviera Beach, on the Costa da Caparica; Fonte da Telha Beach, on the Costa da Caparica; Troia Beach, in Grândola; Porto Santo Beach, in Madeira; Santa Bárbara Beach, in Ribeira Grande (Azores); and Porto Formoso Beach (Azores).

For Luíza Galindo, MEO's Marketing Communications Director, "It's very important that our relationship with society goes beyond the commercial sphere. This is the case with this innovative action, which aims to transform an individual consumer good into a service accessible to all, seeking to make Portuguese families aware of the need for safe sun exposure."

"For Garnier this is an important awareness-raising campaign, Ambre Solaire is our specialist sun protection brand and its mission is to educate Portuguese families about safe sun exposure. With actions like this we can reach more people, at the right time and in the right place, making sun protection accessible to all families. We are delighted to be joining MEO once again in an initiative that we consider essential at this time of year," says André Albarran, Director of Garnier Portugal and Spain.

MEO has become a catalyst for better and deeper human relations. This partnership with Garnier Ambre Solaire is therefore a way of reinforcing this mission of being close to the Portuguese people, making them aware of important issues in our society.
