Altice Portugal presents results for the 4th quarter of 2022

Altice Portugal's Revenues and EBITDA reached 2,629 million euros and 906 million euros in 2022, i.e. +13.7% and +6.2%, respectively, year-on-year. Investment that year amounted to 483 million euros, maintaining the levels of commitment to the global transformation of infrastructures, innovation and investment in the country. The continued acquisition of Customers and the maintenance of low levels of disconnections made it possible to increase the Fixed Services base by 5.3% over the last 12 months, with the Subscription Television Service Customer base growing by 4.3%.

The 4th quarter of 2002. In the period from October to December 2022, total Fixed Services increased by 2.9% to 5.8 million and the total Subscription Television Service customer base grew by 1% to 1.8 million.

All of Altice Portugal's Segments and Lines of Business grew Revenues in the 4th quarter of 2022, an increase of 11.3% compared to the same period of the previous year and standing at 695 million euros. The continued expansion of the customer base in all segments, low churn levels, diversification of the offer of increasingly digital services, innovation and superior quality of service were the determining factors for growth. 

EBITDA increased by 2.1% compared to the 4th quarter of 2021 to 218 million euros, underpinned by the growth in the customer base and revenue from core services and the continued discipline of operating costs. The percentage margin is diluted by the significant growth of new businesses beyond the traditional telco.

The company's investment amounted to 143 million euros in the 4th quarter of 2022, reinforcing its continued commitment to the Mobile Network, state-of-the-art Core Infrastructures and the expansion of the Optical Fiber Network in Portugal, to a total of 6.2 million homes by the end of 2022. The focus on strengthening the Mobile Network, and in particular the implementation of 5G technology, led to an increase in the coverage rate of the Portuguese population from 68.9% at the end of the 2nd quarter, to 85% at the end of the 3rd quarter and to 90.4% at the end of the 4th quarter. In 4G, the national population coverage rate remained at 99.8%.

Revenues in the Consumer Segment amounted to 339 million euros in the 4th quarter of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. The unique customer base continued to expand and increased by 1.7% compared to the last quarter of 2021, after gaining 27,000 net additions, to stand at a total of 1.7 million.

Revenues from the Business Services Segment stood at 356 million euros this quarter, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.4%, driven mainly by the growth of Altice Labs.

According to the reports released by ANACOM in December, MEO strengthened its leadership in all Services, maintaining this relative position for the 3rd consecutive quarter. It was also recognized by ANACOM as the operator with the lowest number of complaints per thousand customers, for the fourth consecutive year.
