MEO joins innovative educational project aimed at transforming the next generation

Strengthening its corporate social responsibility program, based on partnerships with a positive impact on the local community, MEO joined the 42 Porto in Portugal project today, making available what will be the future space of this school in Porto, on Rua da Picaria.

The protocol between the two entities was signed by Ana Figueiredo, CEO of Altice Portugal, Pedro Santa Clara and Francisco Martins, respectively Director and Chief Financial Officer of Escola 42 in Portugal.

Escola 42 Porto is a philanthropic initiative in which students are not required to pay any tuition fees. With a strong inclusive character and an innovative pedagogical model, based on a gamified system of projects and challenges, it allows its students total freedom and promotes learning and sharing among peers.
Ana Figueiredo, testifies to her satisfaction with the project "We are very motivated to start this partnership, believing that it will have a significant impact on the community. We have a solid track record in supporting education in Portugal and we intend to continue doing so, contributing to the training of new generations in skills that are absolutely necessary for our country. The team responsible for School 42, withwhom we began collaborating on the TUMO project in Coimbra, has a solid track record in this area, and it is only natural that we reinforce our position by supporting the School 42 project. There'sno doubt that this is a different project, aimed at people aged 17 and over, which, in addition to technical skills in various areas of programming, works on the ability, determination, autonomy and resilience of its students, values that are crucial to the success of young people and with which we identify."

For Pedro Santa Clara, CEO of 42 Portugal, "Being able to count on MEO's support is a great source of pride for us and proof of our commitment to preparing the next generations for a digital society. Much more than a partnership, it reflects a vision of leadership in the sector and plays a crucial role in realizing our growth ambition at 42 Porto of reaching 500 students in just a year and a half of this campus' life."

Founded in Paris in 2013, School 42 is considered one of the best programming schools in the world. Present in more than 50 cities around the world, it offers anyone over the age of 17 the opportunity to learn to program for free and has been present in Portugal since 2021.
