Portuguese Football Federation and MEO together for 25 years until 2030

Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (FPF) and MEO announce the renewal of the partnership between the two entities, which now runs until 2030. The agreement consolidates a 25-year link between the two parties, strengthening the relationship between the FPF and the leading brandin the electronic communications sector in Portugal.

MEO will continue to be the official sponsor of all the National Teams, providing its technological support and resources for the development of soccer in Portugal.
The presidents of the FPF, Fernando Gomes, and MEO, Ana Figueiredo, signed the contract at a ceremony held at Cidade do Futebol attended by executive members of both entities.

To celebrate its silver anniversary, MEO gave the Portuguese Football Federation a Portuguese national team jersey, worn by the team at the 1998 World Cup, made in silver. This is precisely the year in which the partnership between the FPF and MEO began. Worked on a real jersey, acquired from a collector, the piece was customized and personalized with the number 25 and the historical interval 1998-2023, representative of the years of partnership between the two organizations. This original and unique piece was created by the Dentsu Creative Portugal agency and executed by the Lindo Serviço studio.

With the aim of making the date everlasting, MEO also developed a film, also designed by Dentsu Creative Portugal, which portrays major achievements and milestones in the historic relationship with the FPF. The film emphasizes the emotion of soccer and the importance of the relationship between these two brands - materialized in the original piece evoking the 25th anniversary and converted into a film to share with all the Portuguese.

Fernando Gomes expressed his satisfaction with the renewal of this agreement, saying that "The relationship between the FPF and MEO has been long and faithful and, at the end of this contract, it will exceed three decades, which reflects the solid pillars on which it is based. MEO's commitment to supporting all national teams has been fundamental to the successes achieved by the Federation at all levels."

Fernando Gomes thanked MEO for all its support, saying that "together we will surely continue to write new pages of success in the history of the national teams."

For Ana Figueiredo, CEO of Altice Portugal, "Today is the day to celebrate a historic partnership, of great milestones and many achievements. We are one of the oldest sponsors of the Portuguese Football Federation and it is a source of pride to see how far we have come together, always with the aim of raising Portugal's profile on the international soccer scene. We want to continue to be part of the Federation's history and to be recognized as the official brand of all the national teams."

The support and association of the MEO brand with sport and different sports aims to be where the emotions of the Portuguese are. Soccer is a theme that brings Portuguese families together and the brand's connection to sport reinforces fans' identification with MEO, just as they have with technology because of the connectivity it offers.
