With sustainability as one of its strategic pillars, Altice Portugal has always been committed to People, the Environment and Governance. The signing of the commitment with the Portuguese Platform for Integrity (PPI) is now another step in the affirmation of these fundamental pillars of society, in defense of transparency.
The signing of the commitment with the Portuguese Platform for Integrity was addressed by Altice's CEO, Ana Figueiredo, and took place as part of ESG Week (Environmental, Social and Governance). The event took place in Lisbon and was attended by the head of the National Anti-Corruption Mechanism, António Pires Henriques da Graça, and the former Attorney General, Joana Marques Vidal.
Created in 2019 by the UN Global Compact Network Portugal and the Portuguese Business Ethics Association, the PPI is a response to the United Nations' call for countries, through governments and companies, to promote measures that contribute to the fight against corruption, as provided for in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Peace, justice and effective institutions are the three pillars of the 16th Sustainable Development Goal set by the United Nations (UN). For Altice Portugal, they are an unavoidable concern, reflected in a set of tools and structures created to ensure careful management of these issues.
An example of this is the Plan for the Prevention of Risks of Corruption and Related Offenses, created in 2022 to guide the conduct of the entire company, all employees and all the group's activities. In addition to prohibiting any improper conduct, the document reinforces Altice's position of total commitment to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, including the principle of Anti-Corruption.
The signing of this pact thus reinforces Altice Portugal's commitment to lead in the area of Sustainability, one of the company's key areas of action for the coming years.
