Altice Portugal presents Q3 2022 results

In the nine months of the year, Revenues grew by +14.5% and EBITDA by +7.6%, to 1,934.7 million euros and 687.9 million euros respectively, compared to the same period last year. The company's investment amounted to 339.7 million euros in the same period.

In the third quarter of 2022, Altice Portugal's Revenues showed growth in all Segments and business lines, increasing +15.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and standing at 680.4M€. Excluding the contribution of Unisono, a company acquired in August 2021, Revenues grew +13.2% compared to the same period in 2021.

In the period from July to September 2022, the Pay-TV customer base grew by 1.3% to 1.8 million and the mobile subscriber base increased by 1.2% to 8.8 million.

EBITDA increased by +5.4% compared to the same period in 2021, standing at 233.6 million euros. The EBITDA performance is the result of continued growth in the Fixed and Mobile Services Customer Base in both Segments, portfolio diversification, technological innovation in the range of products and services on offer and maintaining discipline in controlling operating costs.

The company's investment amounted to 114.4 million euros, up 4.3% on the same period last year, as a result of the continued strengthening of the mobile network, next generation core infrastructures and the expansion of the largest fiber optic network in Portugal, to a total of 6.19 million homes at the end of the quarter (including 5.5 million owned by Fastfiber). As a result of the focus on strengthening the Mobile Network, the 5G coverage rate increased from 68.9% at the end of the 2nd quarter to 85.0% at the end of the 3rd quarter. In 4G, the coverage rate of the national population is already 99.8%.

Consumer Segment Revenues stood at 330.1 million euros, representing a year-on-year variation of +4.9%. The Unique Customer Base grew by +1.3% over the last 12 months, to 1.7 million.

Revenues from the Business Services Segment amounted to 350.3 million euros, a year-on-year increase of +27.5%, or +23.5% excluding Unisono's contribution.

MEO has renewed its title of "Recommended Brand of the Year", winning the title "Recommended Brand 2022" by Portuguese consumers, awarded by Portal da Queixa and Consumers Trust, in recognition of the best performance in the Satisfaction Index in the "Communications, TV and Media" category. The company scored over 80 points (out of 100), the highest in its category. In addition, MEO was recognized for the fourth consecutive year as the operator with the fewest complaints per thousand customers, according to ANACOM.
