With a legacy of 6 editions, the Altice International Innovation Award is intended to reward entrepreneurs and startups in the incubation phase (up to three years), doctoral students or inclusive projects aimed at providing information and communication technologies and technological accessibility solutions at the service of citizens, particularly those with special needs. It is the largest monetary prize currently awarded in Portugal in the area of technological innovation.

Representing a total prize of more than €460,000 and adding up to more than 500 applications received over the years, Altice's innovation award also has the partnership of the National Innovation Agency. For the 5th consecutive year, ANI is once again partnering with the AIIA to award the Born from Knowledge (BfK) distinction to the best finalist project "born from knowledge", which results from research and development (R&D) activities, thus valuing national scientific and technological knowledge that responds to society's challenges and contributes to the development of the economy.
