With six editions already marking the national Internet of Things scene, the IoT Challenge returns for another edition, this time to challenge the international business ecosystem to explore 5G connectivity and capitalize on its opportunities. Taking advantage of the maximum speed and minimum latency of the fifth generation of mobile networks, the projects in the competition should seek to respond to challenges in the areas of City Management, Mobility and Logistics, Health and Wellbeing, Education, Energy Efficiency, Environment and Circular Economy, Industry or Retail and Services.
Applications are open until May 6 on the Altice Empresas website. Once the projects have been selected and announced, participants will be invited to take part in a kick-off event and will then have the opportunity to use Altice Empresas' IoT Connect service, as well as Altice's spaces and expertise in the golabs.5G and golabs.IoT labs.
The three solutions that, through a short presentation, manage to surprise the jury with a combination of applicability and maturity of the solution, innovation and attractiveness of the business model could become winners. Each winning team will receive three Samsung 5G devices and will be able to benefit from the possibility of having their solution integrated into Altice Empresas' Products and Services portfolio. The winning projects will be announced in October. In its six editions, the IoT Challenge has already impacted around 200 participants, 70 companies and more than 20 winners, who have contributed to strengthening the Portuguese market for Internet of Things solutions. Through this competition, Altice Empresas recognizes and rewards the best technological talents in Portugal, providing the national business fabric with unique tools so that they can continue their digital transformation process.
