The best of the digital world in the 20th edition of the SAPO Awards are now known

- Altice Portugal/ MEO's "Women's Day" voted Campaign of the Year;
- The Creative Agency of the Year Award went to SamyRoad Portugal;
- Altice Portugal was voted Advertiser of the Year;
- Wavemaker was awarded Media Agency of the Year;
- The Career Award, given by Altice Portugal and presented by its CEO, Alexandre Fonseca, went to musician Tim from Xutos e Pontapés.

From a total of 131 entries this year, later reduced by the First Jury - chaired by João Sáàgua, Rector of Universidade Nova de Lisboa - to 51 nominated campaigns, 29 awards were presented at the 2021 edition of the SAPO Awards. In addition to the usual awards in the categories of Sector Awards (Creativity and Media), Strategy Awards, Awards for Special Formats, Digital Media Awards and Jury Awards, this year's edition included two more special awards - the Career Award and the Best SAPO Voice Partner Award - where the following stood out:

- Career Award - Musician Tim
- Best SAPO Voz Partner - Diário do Minho

The Career Award is an award given by Altice Portugal, and aims to recognize a national figure who stands out for their effort, resilience and excellence in their field, in this case music. The award was presented by the CEO of Altice Portugal, Alexandre Fonseca, during yesterday's ceremony.

In turn, the Best SAPO Voz Partner Award is intended to honor one of the more than 50 partners of the SAPO Voz project, an initiative created last year with the aim of supporting the more than 750 local and regional media outlets in Portugal.

Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Altice Portugal, said: "We are delighted to be celebrating the 20th edition of the SAPO Awards. It's been 20 years of history and innovation, recognizing the talent and
creativity of Portuguese talent in digital advertising. Year after year, the SAPO Awards have reinvented themselves, continuing to guarantee the media coverage of the awards and public recognition in general, as well as increasing brand awareness and goodwill among the target audience. By continuing with these awards, Altice Portugal, through its SAPO brand, intends to clearly show that the leading portal in Portugal and the most significant sales house in the Portuguese market continues to be a broadcaster of national talent and the most innovative products on the market."

Around 30 professionals from the world of advertising, marketing and communication made up the three different groups of judges responsible for choosing the winners of this edition: the First Jury, responsible for selecting the list of campaigns entered in the various categories, the Second Jury, in charge of awarding the prizes and, finally, the Digital Media Jury, which is in charge of choosing the winners in the Digital Media Awards category.

In keeping with what has always been the tradition of these Awards, SAPO donated the total amount raised from entries to an institution chosen by the Altice Foundation. This year's chosen charity is Associação Salvador - an institution whose mission is to promote the inclusion of people with motor disabilities in society and improve their quality of life - which will receive a donation of €6,950.

The SAPO Awards were born in 2000 and ended their 20th edition with more than 1,000 trophies awarded and a total of more than 204,000 euros raised and donated to charities.
